BRITVEX ADVISORY LTD
Accessibility statement
Last updated 19 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to use our portal and our services, including people with a disability or a long-term condition, and people who find computers, forms or English difficult.
How accessible the portal is
The portal partially meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Most pages can be used with a keyboard alone, with your device's text made larger (up to 400% zoom) and on a phone, and they are built to work with screen readers. The known problems are listed below.
How we tested it
In October 2026 an independent accessibility auditor tested about 100 public, client and staff pages: with an automated checker (axe-core), with a keyboard alone, at phone widths down to 320 pixels, with 200% and 400% zoom, in high-contrast (forced colours) mode and with wider text spacing. We have not yet tested with people who use screen readers; we would welcome your help.
What we know is not perfect yet
- PDF documents (invoices, letters, draft returns and files we upload for you) are simple PDFs without accessibility tags (WCAG 1.3.1). Invoices and letters can also be read as web pages in the portal; for anything else, ask and we will send it in another format or read it through with you.
- On some forms, when something needs correcting, the message appears at the top of the page rather than next to the field (WCAG 3.3.1). We are moving every form to messages next to the field.
- Some links open in a new tab without saying so (WCAG 3.2.5, advisory), and a few buttons in staff lists have the same name, such as "Open" (WCAG 2.4.6).
- Staff screens have been tested in the same way. A few lists on staff screens are wider than a phone and scroll sideways.
We aim to fix these by the end of March 2027.
Asking for help or a different format
We will make reasonable adjustments for you. For example, we can:
- talk you through anything by phone instead of email, or meet you;
- send documents in large print, as a Word file or read them through with you;
- give you more time, or send reminders in the way that suits you;
- deal with someone you trust on your behalf, once you tell us.
To ask, message us in the portal, email info@britvex.co.uk or call +44 20 3758 7500. You can also tell us in your portal under "Your details" and every member of our team will see it. There is no charge for any adjustment.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us: we aim to reply within 2 working days and to fix problems that stop you using the portal as soon as we can. If you are not happy with our response, you can use our complaints process. You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
This statement was prepared in October 2026, after the test described above, and will be reviewed at least once a year.
